Finding Your Way Around School
My school is in a small village surrounded by green rice fields and coconut trees. It is a quiet and peaceful place where students learn, play, and grow together.
When you enter the school through the main wooden gate, you will see the teachers’ room on the right. This is where the teachers gather before class and during breaks. In front of you is a long hallway made of tiles and bamboo walls.
On the left and right sides of the hallway, there are classrooms with wide windows that let in fresh air and sunlight. If you walk straight to the end of the hallway, you will find the small school library, a quiet place filled with storybooks and learning materials. Next to the library is the local culture room, where we learn traditional arts like batik painting and gamelan music.
To go to the canteen, keep walking straight and turn left behind the school garden. The canteen is a small wooden hut run by a kind ibu who sells fried bananas, boiled peanuts, and cold drinks.
The sports area is on the right side of the school. It's a large open field used for football and morning exercises. Next to the sports field, there is the art saung, an open-air pavilion where we practice angklung and dance for special village events.
The school layout is simple: a long hallway connects the classrooms, with special rooms like the library, culture room, canteen, sports field, and art saung built around it.
For new students, the best advice is to ask a classmate or teacher if you're lost and to follow the handmade wooden signs placed around the school.
