A Trip to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park
Last month, my school organized a field trip to Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park in East Java. The purpose of the trip was to learn more about Indonesia’s natural environment and how to protect it. I was so excited because I had never been to a national park before.
We left early in the morning and arrived at the park before noon. First, we listened to a short presentation by a park ranger who told us about the volcanoes, forests, and wildlife in the area. Then, we hiked along a trail that led to a viewpoint of Mount Bromo. The air was cool and fresh, and the scenery was breathtaking. We saw tall trees, wildflowers, and even a group of deer in the distance.
After lunch, we planted trees as part of a conservation project. It was hard work, but it felt good to help the environment. Later, we had time to take photos and enjoy the view. As the sun began to set, the sky turned orange and pink, and Mount Semeru stood tall in the background, releasing a soft puff of smoke.
From this trip, I learned how important it is to take care of nature. I also learned how conservation programs work in national parks. My favorite part of the trip was standing at the viewpoint and watching the sunset—it was a moment I’ll never forget.
